The final domino surrounding the roster this offseason to fall, Alabama Crimson Tide freshman guard Labaron Philon has now made a decision.

Announced on Monday afternoon, Philon is officially declaring for the 2025 NBA draft, bringing an end to his college basketball career after one season at Alabama. Philon made the announcement via a post on social media, and also told ESPN’s Jonathan Givony that he is “all in on starting my pro career.”

Coming to Alabama as a highly-rated four-star prospect in the 2024 class, Philon had a key impact on the Crimson Tide’s success this past season, averaging 10.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game on 45.2% shooting from the field. Philon also started 29-of-37 games for the Crimson Tide, and shot 31.5% from three and 76.7% at the free throw line to earn SEC All-Freshman honors.

The Alabama guard is a name who could very easily come off the board midway through the first round of the 2025 NBA draft, and was recently projected by USA TODAY Sports to be selected No. 21 overall following the conclusion of the NCAA Tournament.

If Philon were to be drafted in the first round, he would become the first Alabama to do so since Brandon Miller and Noah Clowney were selected with the No. 2 and No. 21 picks, respectively, back in 2023.
