Rockets head coach Ime Udoka and veteran leaders Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks met with the media Tuesday after an intense practice at Houston’s new training center.

After Sunday’s playoff-opening loss at home, the Rockets need a win in Wednesday’s Game 2 to tie the best-of-seven series before it shifts to Golden State for the next two games. Houston scored just 85 points in an offensively challenged Game 1.

“I don’t think we have to do much different,” Brooks said of what needs to change after the 95-85 loss. “I think we just have to trust in each other… with the pass, and trusting the guy beside you to make shots. I feel like we didn’t make that many shots. If we hold any team under 100 points, our chances are better than most teams. Fresh spacing and finding 3-point shooters to open space for Alpi (Sengun) and Jalen (Green) to drive, that would be our adjustment.”

With the NBA spacing out its first-round series for television broadcast purposes, both the Warriors and Rockets did not practice Monday. Given two days off between games, the teams used Monday to allow players to rest and recover before getting back to physical activity on Tuesday.

Here’s a roundup of what was said and learned from Tuesday’s practice. Game 2 will tipoff Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m. Central from Houston’s Toyota Center, with broadcasts available on both TNT (national) and Space City Home Network (regional, with Houston’s own announcing crew).
