2026 four-star running back Ezavier Crowell could be changing his commitment date.

He posted on his X account (formerly Twitter) that he would no longer commit on Dec. 31. This could be an indication that he will be moving up his commitment. In early March, he had Auburn listed in his top six schools that also included Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, Georgia, and Texas. He has visits scheduled for these schools during the summer, with Auburn being on June 13 per 247Sports.

He is currently ranked the No. 4 running back of the 2026 class per 247Sports. They also have him ranked as the No. 7 player in Alabama. His teammate and quarterback, Landon Duckworth, is scheduled to visit Auburn on May 16. Perhaps if Duckworth is impressed with the Tigers, that could lead to Crowell heading to the plains. Duckworth is a four-star prospect for the class of 2026 and is rated as the No. 6 quarterback in the country.

The combination led Jackson High School to a state championship in 2024. Jackson defeated Cherokee County in dominating fashion, 69-,6 in the AHSAA 4A State Championship. Crowell rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns in the game. On the season, he rushed for 1,964 yards and 31 touchdowns. In 2023, he rushed for 1,737 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Auburn currently has seven players committed to the 2026 class, and is ranked No. 23 by 247Sports. Auburn landed one of the best running backs for the 2025 class with the commitment of Alvin Henderson. Crowell and Henderson could develop into one of the best duos in college football if Crowell commits to the Tigers.
