The New Orleans Saints have met with quite a few prospects during the 2025 offseason, and continue to do so as they grow ever closer to the prestigious NFL draft. With that, they have had the opportunity to have discussions with many players, but in recent weeks there seems to have been more of an emphasis on the skills position players, specifically wide receiver and tight end.
One of the players who fit the mold is Maryland wide receiver Tai Felton, who met with the Saints during his pro day week alongside multiple other teams, which was reported by Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda. Pauline had this to say the following about the meetings:
“He comes off of a career season after catching 98 passes for 1,124 yards and nine TDs. Seven receivers coaches were on hand for the workout, and over the past two days, Felton met with the Saints, Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, Minnesota Vikings, and Washington Commanders.”
As he mentioned, Felton is coming off a huge season in terms of productivity, hitting career-high marks in pretty much every counting statistic while still remaining efficient with 11.7 yards per reception. His athleticism is off the charts as well, posting a 9.20 Relative Athletic Score which was calculated by Kent Lee Platte. Despite a low composite size grade due to being on the lighter side with low bench press reps (12), a 4.37-second 40-yard dash and a 10-foot-10 broad jump more than made up for that.
This athleticism is a key part of his game, and as a projected early Day 3 pick, he could be someone the Saints look at to try and fill their need at the wide receiver position.
