The New York Giants are doing their due diligence on many of the top eligible running backs in the 2025 NFL draft later this month.

They hosted Iowa‘s Kaleb Johnson on one of their Top 30 visits on Wednesday.

Johnson, who played for current Giants running back coach Ladell Betts the past three seasons at Iowa, is just the latest running back to meet with Big Blue. They have also met with Ohio State’s Quinshon Judkins, Ollie Gordon II of Oklahoma State, Rutgers’ Kyle Monangai, and Sidiki Kone of American International.

These backs are all tough inside runners who will complement the current group of versatile players the Giants already have at the position: Tyrone Tracy Jr, Devin Singletary, Eric Gray, and Dante Miller.

“He may start out his career as an early down back, which could complement Tyrone Tracy’s skill set exceptionally well,” writes veteran Giants reporter Art Stapleton. “Johnson just racked up 1,537 yards and 21 touchdowns during his final season with the Hawkeyes, leading the Big Ten in both categories and setting Iowa’s single-season record in the latter.”

Top 30 visits aren’t always necessarily an indicator that a team will target a certain player — they are sometimes used to eliminate players from the draft board — but they are noteworthy nonetheless.
