Well, WrestleMania is over. Now what.
After two great nights of wrestling, we come out with as many questions as we had going in. We might not have the answers, but we definitely have some questions. So before we head to Monday Night Raw on Netflix on April 21, try to figure some things out.
Is Jey Uso the face of WWE?
Yeet? After beating GUNTHER and being one of the most popular wrestlers in the world for a few years now, Jey Uso is officially a true main eventer. He’s the man, he’s a star, he connects with the fans, and it would be smart to make sure he’s one of the top guys going forward. Winning a world championship at WrestleMania puts him on the right track.
Is the Bloodline over?
Roman Reigns lost his wiseman. Solo Sikoa did nothing at WrestleMania. Jacob Fatu is a champion. Jey Uso is a champion. And nobody is running in the same direction. The Bloodline was my favorite storyline in history, and I’ve been a fan since Hulk Hogan won his first title beating the Iron Sheik. I hope they bring it back with the same guys.
How good is the WWE roster?
This weekend didn’t have a bad match. I didn’t care for Cena-Cody, but it was still a decent match. The rest were all very good to unreal. There aren’t a lot of wrestlers in WWE who can’t put on a five-star match. They all went out and did that this weekend. I can’t say enough about the performers this weekend. They all deserve a lot of credit.
What should WWE do with Charlotte Flair?
Fans do not like her. They hate her. They boo her. It’s like they don’t even want to see her. But she’s probably the best wrestler in the promotion. She was just gone for a year and the fans still hate her. I guess she could be the best bad guy wrestler in the promotion. She could be the women’s GUNTHER in that she’s the best, and can kill anyone.
Who is the best female wrestler in WWE?
This division was loaded. Tiffany Stratton, Charlotte Flair, Iyo Sky, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Bayley, Jade Cargill, Naomi, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez and Lyra Valkyria were the only women who made the show. All of them are insanely talented. And then Becky Lynch returns. If you count NXT, the WWE Women’s roster is the best roster I can remember.
Is Dirty Dom a good guy now?
The best bad guy in the business these days got a lot of cheers in Las Vegas. Dom Mysterio won the Intercontinental championship. The fans were cheering “You Deserve it” to the guy who hasn’t really heard cheers since he turned on his dad a few years back. If you watch his videos, Dominik comes off as one of the nicest people, so he’ll be a fine good guy. The fans are now singing “Dirty, Dirty Dom!” FICKLE! But the cheers are deserved.
What’s next for Bronn Breakker?
Rick Steiner’s son is too good for midcard. He did a great job there, but it’s time for him to take a step up and start headlining these premium live events.
What was the biggest story of the weekend? WWE buying AAA
Forget WrestleMania, WWE buying AAA was the biggest story of the weekend. With the collection of Latino talent WWE has built, owning AAA only makes that way stronger. World’s Collide is going to be one of the best shows you’ve ever seen. If you can, check out the first one from the WCW days. Very exciting stuff.
What’s next for CM Punk?
CM Punk needs to be in the mix for a championship. He has wrestled the champ on some house shows, but I’d like to see him match up with Cena. Actually, I’d like to see Punk or Randy Orton wrestle Cena next. I guess you’d have to move Cena to Smackdown, so it’ll likely be Orton who gets first crack at Cena. What’s that leave for Punk?
What’s next for Cody Rhodes?
They have to do something like they did a few years ago when Brock Lesnar attacked Rhodes because it’s time to move him away from Cena. They didn’t click, they didn’t have good chemistry and Cena-Rhodes was the only bad thing about WrestleMania.
Why do people call Logan Paul a part timer?
Logan Paul is a great wrestler. All wrestlers are part timers now. Why does it matter how often a guy shows up? When Roman Reigns shows up, I’m happy. When the Rock shows up, I’m happy. When Logan Paul moves up, I’m happy. Stop worrying about how often people are there and start worrying about how much fun they are when they’re there.
How evil is Paul Heyman?
Roman Reigns has been the worst guy in the world for five years. He uses people. He’s mean to people. He trashes people the minute they’re not good to him. He’s mistreated Paul Heyman many times. CM Punk is a great wrestler and a fan favorite now but he can be a pretty terrible person too. He threw Paul Bearer’s ashes on the Undertaker, he was one of the worst dudes in the business when he was in his first championship run and who is more viscous on the mic than Punk? These two guys who deserve no sympathy. But everyone felt bad for them Saturday night when Paul Heyman cheapshotted them. That tells you how bad, or great, Heyman is. And people say Heyman will bring Rollins to another level. I disagree. Rollins is already there. But Heyman makes anyone else more fun.
Are New Day the GOATS?
I don’t like these guys. They broke my heart. Kofi Kingston is one of my all time favorites and Xavier Woods is nothing but fun, but I’ll always be a Big E guy, and when they turned on him, they lost me as a fan. However, they are the best tag team of all time. And I say that as a huge fan of the Hart Foundation, the Rock and Roll Express, the Midnight Express, the Road Warriors, Hardyz, Dudleys and Edge and Christian. They’re the best.
Bonus question: Where was the Rock?
So the Rock shows up at Bad Blood, Elimination Chamber, Royal Rumble, random SmackDowns, but he doesn’t show up at WrestleMania? What’s that about Rock?
