Before Saturday’s festivities, here’s what you need to know: WNBA standout Angel Reese is turning 23 on May 6, and she’s marking the occasion with a blowout “Y2K”‑themed birthday bash in Chicago, sponsored by Juicy Couture.

With the Chicago Sky on the mend, “Bayou Barbie” continues to build a brand that transcends the court.

Reese first teased the party in April, but took to social media again on Saturday to remind fans of the big event taking place at Hidden Gem, Chicago.

She reposted the event on her Instagram story, sending the message, “Tonight we putting it on the FLO! Can’t wait to see ya’ll tonight.”

At LSU, Reese helped the Tigers defeat Iowa in the 2023 national championship, out‑rebounding Caitlin Clark’s Hawkeyes to seize the title.

In the process, she cultivated an enormous following, leading to NIL deals with major brands like McDonald’s, Coach, and Mielle Organics.

Her off‑court endorsements pushed her NIL valuation to $1.3 million by season’s end, gaining over 3.5 million followers across TikTok, Instagram, and X.

In her 2024 WNBA rookie season, Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game, setting a rookie record with 446 total rebounds.

She also led the league in total offensive rebounds (172), offensive rebound percentage (16.9%), and total rebound percentage (23%).

Her performance earned her selection to the WNBA All‑Star Game and a spot on the All‑Rookie Team before a wrist injury ended her season prematurely.

Chicago travels to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for their season opener against the Indiana Fever on May 17.
