The reigning NBA-champion Boston Celtics completed the gentleman’s sweep over No. 7 seed Orlando Magic on Tuesday night, closing out their first-round playoff series with a dominant 120-89 win in Game 5.
The Celtics were led by a masterful performance from star forward Jayson Tatum, who finished the game with 35 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds on 10-16 shooting from the field and 4-5 shooting from behind the 3-point arc.
Tatum missed Game 2 after suffering a wrist injury on a hard fall in Game 1. But through the four games he was active for the Celtics, he put forth some elite production.
Tatum finished the Celtics’ first-round series win over the Magic averaging 31.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.
After Tuesday night’s Game 5 win, the Celtics announced Tatum as their unanimous “Key Player of the Game.”

Tatum and the Celtics are on the hunt for yet another championship title after last year’s run. The 27-year-old NBA superstar says he feels a sense of freedom after accomplishing the team’s ultimate goal in 2023-24.
“This season was the most relaxed and carefree that I’ve been in my career, understanding that we won last year and we accomplished the ultimate goal,” Tatum said during his postgame press conference on Tuesday. “You kind of got that monkey off your back.”
