Apr. 29—NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. — Former New Rockford-Sheyenne and University of North Dakota wide receiver Bo Belquist has received an opportunity to live out a childhood dream.
On Monday, April 28, Belquist was officially invited to the San Francisco 49ers rookie minicamp, running from May 8-9 at the team’s training facility.
During his career as a Fighting Hawk, Belquist played in 52 games compiling 271 receptions for 3,305 yards and 30 touchdowns. He also had four carries for 23 yards. During his final season with the team, he had 65 receptions for 932 yards and 10 touchdowns. Belquist’s 271 all-time receptions are the most in program history.
The former New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets wide receiver is trying to be the third current player from the Fighting Hawks to play in the NFL, joining offensive guard Kyle Hergel and offensive tackle Matt Waletzko.
According to the Fighting Hawks’ X account, Belquist is one of three players from the program to be signed as an undrafted free agent or receive a rookie minicamp invitation as of Tuesday, April 29.
According to Pro Football Focus, Belquist is one of two undrafted wide receivers who have been signed by the 49ers after the NFL draft alongside Nebraska’s Isaiah Neyor.
