Penn State football is getting a visit from a transfer linebacker.
Rutgers transfer Mohamed Toure, the brother of current Nittany Lion safety Vaboue Toure, is on campus for a visit after entering the portal as a grad transfer, according to a report by Matt Zenitz.
Toure spent six seasons with the Scarlet Knights, but missed the entire 2022 and 2024 campaigns due to different ACL tears, giving him one remaining year of eligibility.
When healthy, Toure produced 92 tackles, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble and an interception in 2023, earning an All-Big Ten honorable mention. He also had a solid season in 2021 with 51 tackles, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a pick.
The Nittany Lions are in desperate need of depth at linebacker, which was a weak point heading into the offseason before Ta’Mere Robinson and Beckham Dee entered the transfer portal. Head coach James Franklin made it clear the team was looking to add to the room, and this visit marks the second of the week.
Former North Carolina standout linebacker Amare Campbell has a visit scheduled for the weekend, as another potential option for Penn State.
Tony Rojas and Dom DeLuca are considered the favorites to start, but the addition of one or both transfers would likely shake things up and fill a big hole in Dan Connor’s room.

Missed last year due to injury but had 94 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks at Rutgers in 2023 and was an All-Big Ten selection.… pic.twitter.com/69GSnTVIWs
