The NFL never stops, and neither do the franchises. Now that the 2025 NFL draft is over and post-draft analysis is underway, it’s time for teams to evaluate their scouting departments and consider making adjustments.
This is especially true for teams like the Tennessee Titans, who hired a general manager in the middle of the scouting season. Teams with new general managers often make small changes to their scouting departments after the draft concludes to bring in some familiar faces. On Monday, Mike Borgonzi started that process in Nashville.
AJ @Hxghsmith, who’s been part of 3 organizations in his 11 years in #NFL player evaluation, will not return as Director of Scouting w/the #Titans as new GM Mike Borgonzi reshapes his staff. Highsmith, who played QB & DB for @CanesFootball, has also served w/the #49ers & #Bills.

The Titans are parting ways with director of scouting AJ Highsmith after one season with the organization.
The son of former Houston Oilers running back Alonzo Highsmith, he was hired by former general manager Ran Carthon in July 2024 to oversee both college and pro scouting.
This is the first of what could be many changes within the scouting department as Tennessee completes the front office transformation they began in January. Stay tuned for any updates as they come out.
