The Minnesota Vikings had a very meat-and-potatoes draft in a way. They drafted positions where they either didn’t have a lot of flash but filled a need, or were selected for the purpose of depth. Despite the selections of Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and his staff, there remains some positions that were not given any attention in the draft.
Some positions that still need help are safety, cornerback, running back, and linebacker.
Credit Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, though, he has built a roster with no glaring holes in it. Even at the positions we laid out, the issues there are just depth-related. They have key starters at all of them, but having some backups who could step up or play meaningful snaps comes in handy as the season gets to January and beyond. We have some suggestions for who the Vikings could target in free agency before training camp kicks off in a few months.
