Michigan State football picked up a commitment from a transfer cornerback and former junior college All-American on Saturday night.

UTSA transfer Anthony Pinnace announced his commitment to Michigan State via a post on social media platform X late on Saturday. Pinnace reportedly visited Michigan State on Saturday and concluded his visit by announcing his plan to become a Spartan.

Pinnace committed to UTSA during the winter transfer portal window but jumped back into the portal during the spring, which has led him to Michigan State. Prior to his time with the Roadrunners this past spring, Pinnace attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa during the 2024 season, and Independence Community College in Kansas during the 2023 season. Pinnace committed to Washington State between the two JUCO seasons in December of 2023, but he never ended up on the Cougars’ roster, according to Spartans Illustrated. He earned first-team NJCAA All-America honors prior to committing to Washington State in 2023.

Pinnace has two years of eligibility remaining.

Originally from Ann Arbor, Mich., Pinnace played his high school ball at Huron High. Michigan State previously recruited him as a JUCO prospect, with the Spartans being part of a list of more than 30 schools to offer Pinnace during his career. Some of the more notable schools to offer him as well includes Boise State, Washington State, Charlotte, Coast Carolina, Colorado State, Houston, Liberty, UAB and Western Kentucky.
