The anticipation for the upcoming WNBA season is reaching a fever pitch, and with preseason action set to begin in early May, the Indiana Fever will take the floor on May 3 to tip off their preseason schedule. Their regular season opener is slated for May 17, when they’ll face off against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

As the new season approaches, it marks year two for fan favorite Caitlin Clark — and she returns to a revamped Fever roster. With the hiring of new head coach Stephanie White and an aggressive push in free agency, Indiana has reshaped its team in a big way. On Saturday, the Fever took another step forward by officially announcing their training camp roster.

The roster still features the core group that drove last season’s success, including Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, and Lexie Hull. However, the Fever made key offseason additions to bolster their depth and experience, bringing in veteran standouts such as DeWanna Bonner, Sophie Cunningham, Natasha Howard, Brianna Turner, and Sydney Colson.

One of the most intriguing challenges facing Stephanie White and the Fever coaching staff will be trimming down the roster. The preseason will serve as a critical opportunity for players to compete for a final spot.

The Fever currently have 15 players heading into preseason, but they’ll need to cut that number down to at least 12 before the regular season begins. Teams are allowed to carry as few as 11 players or as many as 12 on the final roster.

Interestingly, Indiana opted to bring just 15 players into camp — even though the league permits up to 18 — which means three to four players will be hitting the free agent market before the May 17 season opener.
