The Kansas City Chiefs addressed their most glaring need in Round 1 of the 2025 NFL draft by selecting Ohio State Buckeyes tackle Josh Simmons with the No. 32 pick last night.
With its new left tackle officially secured, Kansas City’s front office is set to enter Day 2 of the draft with a ton of flexibility and three valuable selections that might turn into elite prospects who can help the Chiefs get back to the Super Bowl next season.
With six rounds remaining in the 2025 NFL draft, many of college football’s biggest stars remain available.
Take a look at this list of the top prospects who could be fits for the Chiefs and are still on the board entering Round 2:
Ole Miss Rebels WR Tre Harris
Harris would be a perfect pick for Kansas City late in Round 2. Though he might not be the most polished pass-catcher in this class, Harris has all the makings of a prospect who would fit in with the Chiefs’ up-and-coming receiving corps.
Toledo Rockets DL Darius Alexander
Kansas City needs to add a defensive lineman during this draft, and Alexander is exactly the kind of gritty run stuffer that the Chiefs lost when Tershawn Wharton signed with the Carolina Panthers as a free agent. Alexander should be able to make an immediate impact as a rookie and would get the benefit of having Chris Jones as a mentor.
California Golden Bears CB Nohl Williams
Williams is an underrated defensive back due to his underwhelming performance at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, but his ball-hawking prowess shouldn’t be overlooked. With 12 career interceptions as a collegian, Williams might be just the kind of player Kansas City’s defense needs if the Chiefs want to force more turnovers next season.
Texas Longhorns DL Alfred Collins
Brett Veach picked Xavier Worthy out of Texas last year, and could look back to the Longhorns on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL draft to bolster Kansas City’s front four by selecting Collins in Round 2 or 3. Collins was a force to be reckoned with in the middle of Texas’ defensive line last season, and could be an ideal fit for the Chiefs.
Ohio State Buckeyes EDGE J.T. Tuimoloau
It might be a stretch to think that Veach would pick Ohio State players back-to-back in Rounds 1 and 2, but if Tuimoloau is available at pick No. 64, Kansas City’s front office would be wise to consider acquiring him. A battle-tested sack-master, Tuimoloau will breathe new life into any defense he joins.
Florida State Seminoles CB Azareye’h Thomas
Thomas doesn’t turn 21 until July 6 and was seen as a potential first-round pick by some analysts when the draft kicked off last night. While it seems unlikely that Thomas will fall all the way through Round 2, the Chiefs should take a hard look at him in a trade-up scenario.
