The Wisconsin Badgers remain in the market for frontcourt depth in the transfer portal.

The program has reportedly shown interest in one of the portal’s top uncommitted centers: Texas Tech transfer Federiko Federiko. According to his agent, the 6-foot-11 senior has been contacted by the Badgers, as well as Auburn, Indiana, Ole Miss, Virginia, NC State, Texas A&M, USC, and Utah.

Federiko averaged 18.9 minutes, 5.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game during his lone season in Lubbock, Texas. Those tallies came in 35 total appearances, six of them starts. The veteran is poised to make a big jump in 2025-26 after flashing potential at Pitt (2022-24) and with the Red Raiders (2024-25). His best game in 2024-2025 came against Oral Roberts, during which he scored 23 points on 11-of-13 shooting, grabbed 12 rebounds and notched five assists.

Federiko brings a level of size and athleticism that fits Wisconsin’s current need for frontcourt depth. He’d slot in as one of the team’s primary bench options at the position, behind starters Nolan Winter and Austin Rapp.

The center’s transfer profile is seen in the number of top programs expressing interest. He would be a major addition for Greg Gard and his staff, if the Badgers are able to land a commitment.
