Last but nowhere near the least, baseball concluded its region competition and declared winners over the weekend and are now gearing up for the GHSA-wide competition to start April 23.

Like last year, all rounds will be hosted by the higher seed until the finals. Round one is April 23-26, round two April 29-May 2, the quarterfinals May 7-8 and the semifinals May 13-14. Universal coin flips will be used if two of the same seed get paired.

The championships are slated to be held in several different places from Saturday, May 19 to Tuesday, May 22. Locations include Georgia Southern from May 19-21; Rome High School from May 19-22; and Coolray Field from May 19-22. Classifications have yet to be spread out between the three.

Oconee County won its first region title since 2015 a week before the season concluded to earn the No. 5 seed overall in Class 3A. Prince Avenue Christian and North Oconee also claim their region titles to earn the top-seeds in the private region and Class 4A-Region 8. The Wolverines, who are ranked No. 9 in Georgia and defending their back-to-back state titles, also earned a first round bye.

GIAA baseball starts later with round one on May 9-10 and round two on May 16-17. The semifinals will be May 23-24, and the finals will be May 27-28 at Synovus Park in Columbus.
