Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison is never going to be able to fully explain away the Luka Dončić trade, and Charles Barkley has some sage advice for the Mavs executive.
During a TNT segment on Monday night, Barkley pleaded with Harrison to stop talking with the media about arguably the most controversial NBA trade of all time, particularly while it’s still so fresh in people’s minds.
“Don’t go on T.V.,” Barkley advised Harrison during the segment. “Lay low. Just lay low.”
Barkley might be a gold mine for NBA hot takes, but this is a pretty reasonable suggestion for Harrison if you ask us.

Harrison is just going to have to live in the fact that Dallas fans are going to be absolutely furious with him until the Mavericks actually prove their generational decision was worth it by winning a championship.
Barkley is totally right; the more Harrison tries to explain this trade away or provide any updated feelings about it, the worse it’s going to get for him. Silence really is golden in this case.
