The New Orleans Saints have met with many different prospects at many different positions this spring in preparation for the 2025 NFL draft. One of the notable trends however has been a deep dive into the trenches, as both the offensive and defensive line have been scouted at a slightly higher rate than any other position, which makes sense given the team needs improvements at both.

One of the recent private meetings they had was with UCLA edge rusher Oluwafemi Oladejo, who has been rapidly flying up draft boards after an exceptional 2024 season, and an even more impressive Senior Bowl. Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston would be the one to report the news, sharing the following about the teams Oladejo has met with:

“UCLA pass rusher and converted linebacker Oluwafemi Oladejo visited the Texans and also has visits with the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills, Las Vegas Raiders and the Arizona Cardinals. He has worked out privately for the New Orleans Saints after excelling at the Senior Bowl all-star game.”

Private workouts do not necessarily mean more or less interest, it is rather an opportunity to gather more information on a prospect they may need to answer some questions on.

Oladejo is a fun prospect to keep an eye on, and in 2024 he broke out in a big way, producing 7 sacks, 19 hurries, 14 tackles for loss, 57 total tackles, and 2 pass deflections in 662 snaps. While his athletic profile is incomplete to give him a full Relative Athletic Score, Kent Lee Platte tracked some of his data toward the score, including a 36.5-inch vertical jump, 20 bench press reps, and a 10-foot broad jump. While he is slightly on the smaller side of edge rushers at 6-foot-3, 259 pounds, he has the athleticism to make up for it, and his production finally started to show this past season.

With a projected third-round grade to his name, he could be an extremely intriguing prospect for the Saints to select as they look to continue to rebuild in the trenches.
