Milwaukee Admirals forward Cal O’Reilly has won the 2024-25 Fred T. Hunt Memorial Award as AHL player who best exemplifies sportsmanship, determination and dedication to hockey.
The award is voted on by coaches, management, and media from all 32 AHL teams.
O’Reilly has 11 goals and leads the Admirals with 49 points in 68 games while serving as an assistant captain this season.
The 38-year-old is in his 19th pro season. He is a five-time AHL All-Star who has served as captain with four different organizations. O’Reilly also won the Fred T. Hunt Memorial Trophy in 2020-21 while a member of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
The Toronto, Ont., native has accrued 177 goals, 606 assists and 783 points in 1022 career AHL games. He has the sixth most assists in league history and is tied with Peter White for 17th on the all-time points list.
In February O’Reilly became the ninth player in AHL history to skate in 1000 games.
A fifth round pick of the Nashville Predators in 2005, O’Reilly has 16 goals and 49 points in 145 career NHL games.
O’Reilly has yet to capture a Calder Cup despite leading the playoffs in assists in 2015 and being one of only 22 players who have played in 100 career Calder Cup Playoff games. The Admirals currently sit atop the AHL’s Central Division.
