New England Patriots center Garrett Bradbury has rare insight into wideout Stefon Diggs as a player.
This isn’t the first time the two have shared an NFL locker room. Diggs was in his last year with the Minnesota Vikings when Bradbury was drafted by the team as a rookie. So the offensive lineman got a front row seat to witness greatness early in his career.
Along with Diggs, he also got to see other superstar talents, including Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen.
“When you have these superstar receivers, I mean Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen—I’ve played with some good ones,” Bradbury told media members. “You want them to be like that. You want them to have belief in their talent. You want them to want the ball. When [Diggs] is rolling, he’s hard to stop. So it’s how can we all work together?
“We need to get him the ball, right? I know the coaches are going to do a good job of that. But you want competitive teammates. I see that in Drake [Maye]. I see that in Diggs. I saw that firsthand. I love getting in the huddle with guys like that.”
Diggs is coming off a torn ACL, but he is expected to be ready by Week 1 of the regular season. Patriots cornerback Marcus Jones recently praised the unique traits Diggs brings to the table as a wide receiver.
The Patriots haven’t had a No. 1 receiver in years, and they’re hopeful that the four-time Pro Bowler can help fill that void. He has been posting impressive workout videos on social media, and he clearly passes the eye test as a player who looks like he’s ready to contribute.
