The Pittsburgh Steelers have created an ‘Aaron Rodgers–sized bed’ which they must now lay in — and the four-time MVP’s comments on his future — straight from The Pat McAfee Show — did little to make the Black and Gold faithful feel secure about the team’s direction at quarterback in 2025.
Despite claiming he enjoyed getting to know Steelers WR DK Metcalf and having productive talks with HC Mike Tomlin, Rodgers alluded to retirement still being a viable option in 2025 with a now-viral quote:
“I’m open to anything and attached to nothing. So, yeah, retirement still could be a possibility — but right now my focus is, has been, and will continue to be on my personal life.”
Rodgers clarified that he has relayed that message to coaches and that conversations are still ongoing, but his comments should be taken with extreme precaution by the Pittsburgh Steelers — especially with the 2025 NFL Draft less than one week away.
“I wasn’t stringing anybody along and I was honest with these teams from the jump..
There’s still conversations that are being had and I’ve really appreciated the teams that I’ve talked to”@AaronRodgers12#PMSLivepic.twitter.com/zTEQ6O2Z7X
