The Bucs are in an interesting position as they hold the 19th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The team, and their roster as a whole, is nearly complete as they pursue another Super Bowl this decade. Most teams wouldn’t dream of being able to win as much as one in ten years, let alone two, the way the league competes anymore.

This brings up the question we are discussing today of, which side of the ball needs their attention at pick 19?

In making the argument for the offensive side, the guard spot, tight end, or wide receiver position could all use one more player to complete them. Baker Mayfield, Bucky Irving, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Tristan Wirfs, and Graham Barton are just some of the players who have solidified this offense as one of the best units in the league. If the team wants to solidify their offensive line, they could target someone like Grey Zabel to compete alongside Cody Mauch for the left guard position. Wide receiver, they could take one of the stars if Matthew Golden or Tetairoa McMillan falls to them. And in a wild scenario, in a world where Tyler Warren is available, they could take the Penn State tight end to complete their skill players for years to come.

For the defensive argument, it is the most likely scenario to play out for the team. There is a need for a well-known edge rusher or linebacker. Every mock draft has them attached to Jihaad Campbell or whatever pass rusher falls to them, past all the other teams ahead of them with a need at the same position. There is also the curveball of perhaps a safety or cornerback falling to them like Malaki Starks or Will Johnson. Both players who are expected to and could go in the top ten of the NFL Draft, but could also easily fall for various reasons.

Argument Winner: Defense
