One of the Arizona Cardinals‘ free agents has found a new team. The Cleveland Brownsannounced that they signed defensive end Julian Okwara this week.
Okwara played last season for the Arizona Cardinals after four seasons with the Detroit Lions. He had signed with the Philadelphia Eagles last offseason but did not make the final roster and was released. He signed with the Cardinals’ practice squad at the end of August and was signed to the active roster in September.
He appeared in 13 games, starting one, and had 18 total tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack, two quarterback hits and a tipped pass.
The Cardinals did not appear to make an effort to retain him. But now he has a new team and the opportunity to compete for a spot on Cleveland’s roster.
At this point, his contract is not likely going to be big enough to count for the Cardinals for a compensatory loss in free agency.
