Announced on Tuesday afternoon, the Alabama Crimson Tide have been listed among the finalists for one of the top players currently available in the NCAA transfer portal, former Washington State Cougars guard Cedric Coward.

According to On3’s Joe Tipton, the Crimson Tide have been listed alongside the Duke Blue Devils, Florida Gators, Kansas Jayhawks, and Washington Huskies as the finalists. Coward is also expected to go through the NBA draft process.

A player who originally began his collegiate career at Division-III Willamette University before spending two seasons at Eastern Washington, Coward spent the 2024-25 season at Washington State after transferring last offseason.

As a senior, Coward however appeared in only six games for the Cougars due to an injury, averaging 17.7 points, 7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game on 55.7% shooting from the field, 40% from three, and 83.9% at the free throw line.

According to 247Sports, Coward is currently ranked as the No. 29 overall player in the transfer portal.
