During his freshman year, safety Kennedy Urlacher teased his potential, but unfortunately that won’t materialize with Notre Dame football.

The son of Hall of Fame linebacker Brian Urlacher has decided to enter the transfer portal as reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Kennedy was good enough to force the Irish coaching staff’s hand to play him early, but he didn’t make much noise during the spring as it seemed like others had passed him up on the depth chart.

Urlacher had 12 tackles, forced a fumble and deflected a pass this season, but the former 3-star recruit will continue his football career elsewhere. There is no doubt in my mind that he’s going to succeed wherever he lands, and we wish Kennedy the best at his next football home.
