The New England Patriots are hosting Toledo defensive tackle Darius Alexander on a pre-draft visit, according to The Draft Network’s Justin Melo.
Alexander was a dynamic defensive player for Toledo during his career. He recorded 48 solo tackles, 68 assisted tackles, 8.5 sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery.
He had a strong season last year in particular, recording 40 total tackles, 3.5 sacks and an interception returned for a touchdown. His impressive performance on defense earned him First-Team All-MAC honors on defense.
Per Melo, the Patriots are among 10-plus teams scheduled for a pre-draft visit with Alexander. So multiple teams are clearly doing their homework on the Toledo standout.
.@ToledoFB DT Darius Alexander is among the most intriguing prospects in the 2025 Draft.
Alexander had 10+ pre-draft visits #Bengals, #Titans, #Cardinals, #Cowboys, #Jets, #Raiders, #Patriots, #49ers, #Steelers, #Giants, #Buccaneers. @TheDraftNetwork:https://t.co/oSVFmVMcot

The Patriots addressed the defensive tackle position in free agency with the blockbuster signing of former Philadelphia Eagles defender Milton Williams. However, there are still questions surrounding the health of Christian Barmore, who missed most of the 2024 season with blood clots.
He returned for offseason workouts, but it would make sense for the Patriots to seek out another defender to help with their defensive tackle depth. NFLDraftBuzz.com has Alexander projected as a third-round draft pick.
The Patriots currently have two third-round picks heading into this year’s draft.
