Texas A&M is in the middle of spring practice, and we get a glimpse of what’s going on via social media or press conferences every week, outside of attending practices available to the media. On Monday, head coach Mike Elko revealed his team captains for the 2025 football season.
This was a no-brainer for the second-year head coach, as he chose junior linebacker Taurean York, senior left tackle Trey Zuhn III, and senior right guard Ar’maj Reed-Adams, who are all considered leaders in the locker room and some of the best players at their position. Zuhn and Adams could have declared for the 2025 NFL Draft but decided to return for a final season, bolstering an Aggie O-line that should be one of the top units in the SEC and nationally.
York is entering his most crucial season after recording 82 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and his first career interception in 2024. He continues to get stronger and develop into a dependable defensive play-caller who plays with a high motor. Next to senior backer Scooby Williams, expect big things from York in 2025.
The fans will be able to catch a glimpse of the team after getting a full off-season when they step on the field on April 19 for the spring game.
