With the Masters well underway, golf fans and card investors alike will be locked in on the fairways of Augusta—and the card market. As the first major of the year tees off, all eyes will be on the legends, the favorites, and dark horse contenders who could shake up Sunday’s leaderboard—and the hobby.

If you’re looking to add some green to your collection, here are five golfers whose cards could see serious movement during and after the Masters.

1. Bryson DeChambeau

Bryson is back, and while LIV may have cooled some collector heat, a strong Masters run could reignite it. DeChambeau’s brand of power golf and polarizing presence make him a high-risk, high-reward play in both Augusta and the card market.

He tied for sixth at The Masters last year and already has a major under his belt from 2024—momentum is real, and this could finally be his year to slip on the green jacket. His 2021 Leaf Pro Set Auto, UD Artifacts, and SP Authentics are still relatively affordable—making them perfect targets if he storms into Sunday in contention.

2. Collin Morikawa

Morikawa might not grab headlines like Bryson, but he’s as fundamentally sound as it gets. With two major wins already under his belt, he’s proven he can win on the biggest stage—and a Masters win would instantly vault him into elite hobby status.

This season, he’s been quietly dominant: Top 10 finishes in 3 of his 5 starts, including two runner-ups and a 10th-place finish. His “worst” finish? A respectable 17th. Morikawa is trending up at just the right time.

Card-wise, look for his 2020 SI for Kids rookie, 2021 Goodwin Champions autos, and don’t overlook Upper Deck Artifacts—a premier golf product with some of the cleanest Morikawa autos out there. He’s still undervalued, but that window may close fast if he makes a run at Augusta.

3. Rory McIlroy

Hecklers beware! Rory is one green jacket away from golf immortality. Every year Augusta becomes more of a mental hurdle, but if he finally conquers it, the hobby reaction would be seismic.

He’s already notched two wins this season and is arguably playing his best golf in years. A Masters win would not only complete the career Grand Slam but also ignite serious heat around his cards.

Collectors still chase his 2014 SI For Kids rookie and Goodwin Champions autos, but if you’re looking to go big, his Exquisite and SP Authentic rookie cards are among the top-tier grails in golf collecting—pricey, but with massive upside if he finally breaks through at Augusta.

4. Scottie Scheffler

The No. 1 golfer in the world. Already a two-time Masters champ. Dominant in nearly every metric. And yet… his cards still feel undervalued.

His 2017 Sports Illustrated for Kids rookie is the go-to—and it’s his only true rookie card, adding major long-term value due to its scarcity. In a hobby where supply often dictates price ceilings, Scottie’s limited rookie options make him a blue-chip hold with breakout potential.

If he even sniffs the top 5 again this year, expect spikes across the board. With the way he’s been playing, it’s not a matter of if, but when.

5. Will Zalatoris

Will Zalatoris might not be a betting favorite, but when it comes to The Masters, he shows up. In just a few appearances, he’s already put the field on notice:

  • 2021 – 2nd (Runner-up in his debut!)

  • 2022 – T6

  • 2023 – Missed due to injury

  • 2024 – T9

This man clearly has a feel for Augusta, and now healthy, he’s flying under the radar heading into 2025. That’s the exact formula collectors and investors dream of—high ceiling, low entry point.

Despite his Masters success, Zalatoris’ cards are still cheap, including his rookies. Upper Deck has produced multiple beautiful Zally autos, relics, and low-numbered parallels, many of which are sitting at bargain-bin prices. If he puts himself in Sunday contention, expect a quick double-up on most of his cards.

In a stacked field, he’s the dark horse with the best Augusta pedigree most people are overlooking.
