Miami (Okla.) Northeastern Oklahoma A&M 2026 safety Aaron Edwards has been in communication with West Virginia for quite some time and now has an official visit booked to campus.
Edwards, 6-foot-3, 200-pounds, has been in communication with both defensive coordinator Zac Alley as well as nickels/sams coach Henry Weinreich.
“Things have been very good with West Virginia. I think they’re two coaches that just want to see me succeed so they’re very special coaches,” he said.
And he has set an official visit to Morgantown from June 13-15.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the coaches and the facilities,” he said.
On top of West Virginia, Edwards also plans to officially visit Tulsa.
The junior college prospect is coming off a season where he recorded 63 tackles and 3 forced fumbles and the Mountaineers are targeting him at the safety position.
The coaching staff has made it clear that they like what he brings to the table and he could make an impact in the program at various spots in the back end.
“They like that I love contact and I can make open field tackles,” he said. “I am a sideline-to-sideline player.”
The Oklahoma City native is set to graduate in December and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining and isn’t ruling out anything with his recruitment at this stage.
