Rory McIlroy has a chance to win consecutive majors for the second time in his career at the 2025 PGA Championship.
McIlroy won his third and fourth major titles in 2014, capturing the Open Championship before claiming the Wanamaker for a second time. Those were his last major titles until last month, when he completed the career Grand Slam at Augusta National.
The 2025 PGA Championship is at Quail Hollow Club, normally the host of the Truist Championship, formerly known as the Wells Fargo. McIlroy has won four times at Quail Hollow, including last year. He’ll be a heavy favorite to win his second consecutive major and if he does, he’ll become the first player in a decade to do that.
Only five male golfers have won two straight major championships since 2000, and none have accomplished the feat since 2015.
Here’s a look at every golfer to win consecutive major championships since 2000.
Jordan Spieth
Spieth won the 2015 Masters in record fashion before capturing the 2015 U.S. Open title at Chambers Bay after Dustin Johnson three putted on the 18th green.
Rory McIlroy
McIlroy won the 2014 Open Championship for his first Claret Jug at Royal Liverpool, and a month later he nabbed his second PGA title in the dark at Valhalla.
Padraig Harrington
Padraig Harrington laid the groundwork for McIlroy to follow in his footsteps six years later, capturing the Claret Jug at Royal Birkdale in 2008 before claiming the Wanamakar at Oakland Hills.
Tiger Woods
This is not the only time Tiger appears on this list. His third time winning at least two consecutive majors came in 2006 when he won the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool and then nabbed the PGA at Medinah.
Phil Mickelson
Lefty won consecutive major titles once, claiming the 2005 PGA at Baltusrol before earning his second green jacket the next spring at the 2006 Masters.
Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods
Tiger won not one, not two, not three, but four straight major championships from 2000-01, the Tiger Slam as it was called. It’s the only time in the modern era anyone has won four straight majors.
